In old times these entities had to make greater efforts to gain a wide enough audience to sway an army to their will. But with the rise of platforms such as Youtube it has become easier for these creatures to reach viral status through the proper use of inhuman frequencies, with or without a coherent message.

So as a public service, we will go over the signs of Siren and Nix enthrallment and what you can do to prevent and counteract it.

When under the thrall of a Siren or Nix, the urge of many victims is to begin trying to mimic the sounds of their new masters in order to better communicate with them. However, as conventional humans lack the vocal chords necessary to match the frequencies of a Siren, the result is often rather painful for not only those around them but usually for themselves as well.

The results often sound off-key, disjointed and strained while they attempt to mimic the siren’s song. This can usually be heard when passing the bathroom as they take a shower or, in extreme cases, on reality television. However, if the subject is undeveloped enough, the mimicry may degrade into unintelligible screaming.

The most effective, if somewhat cruel, method of putting a stop to these attempts at mimicry is to film the subject in the process of trying to recreate the siren’s song. When played back this recording the victim will be subjected to their own frequency, breaking the siren’s hold on them enough to return them to their senses. Though this is effective, it often leaves them feeling hostile towards the individual who made the recording and may not work for long periods of time. If they relapse, seek professional help as there are experts in this particular type of disorder.

After a brief period of the screaming and mimicry there is a tendency for these victims is to begin gathering and attempting   to move closer to their new master. Often these crowds of screaming victims will be ear piercing and reaching intolerable volumes for anyone not a part of their collective.

When in these groups, victims will present themselves as part of a “team” which they believe to be superior to all others and devote themselves almost entirely to their new master. In this state the victim can become incredibly irritable and even belligerent towards those who do not share their current views. This results in somewhat violent mood-swings towards anyone who does not succumb to the lure of the siren or nix in particular.

Often, these groups, while easily distinguished by their behavior, will most easily be identified by the act of them labeling themselves as such. Prominent cases of these groupings have been “Beliebers”, “Juggalos” and “Little Monsters”. Even when the Siren or Nix themselves do not show the classic traits of their race, they may be identified by their followers labeling themselves in this fashion.

The best course of action for preventing this mentality is to limit direct exposure to the master. The actions of the mob are most apparent when in groups large enough to fill a room or stadium. Avoid concerts and do not attend any major expositions.

The most damaging stage of the brainwashing, the victim of a Siren or Nix will lose all sense of self-preservation in the face of the prospect of getting closer to their masters. This is the source of the unfortunate history of sunken ships and drowning victims that have marked centuries of Siren history. But in the modern day it is no less common.

The modern displays of this behavior result in activities such as: joining a mosh pit, stage diving, listening to the siren song at ear damaging volumes, drinking excessively while listening to a favorite song, or camping in freezing weather for opportunity to purchase tickets.

In extreme cases, this has resulted in trampelings as thralls pressed close enough to their master to cause physical injury.

As with the Mob Mentality, this is a matter of limiting exposure. These behaviors become most extreme when allowing the victim to get closer to the one that has enchanted them. However, when you have limited that exposure, it is still possible to cause harm at home using modern electronics. Thus, for the sake of the victims within your household you should avoid buying powerful stereo equipment.

If the victim happens to survive the lack of self-preservation, an uncommon occurance in ancient times but more prevalent today, the next stage of the enchantment is to begin nesting. During this time the victim will surround themselves in depictions of their new master, often covering their living space with as many images as possible of their new idol.

This action can be costly, some items being worth far more due to the popularity of the entity that has endorsed them. In some instances some things may be common, everyday objects given the approval of the Siren or Nix in question. The item, however, will be worth hundreds of dollars despite having no redeeming value to the outside world.

Put simply: stop buying them this useless shit. Many people under the spell of a Siren Song will have no resources to supply their own hoarding. Because of this, it is most likely that cutting off their resources will result in a prevention or regression of this nesting. Some of the Nix and Siren have come to understand this weakness among their followers and have made efforts to give them purchasing power. Thus, it is advised to never buy things such as the Bieber Credit Card

However, if they do have the resources, it becomes difficult, if not impossible, to prevent the final stage of the enthrallment.

If all has failed up to this point and the victim in question has progressed through all other stages they will soon begin a final transformation. This transformation may be subtle at first, but over time will begin to completely change their appearance and personality to fit that of their new masters. Though this is not always immediately evident with particular masters, appearing as simple trends, with other masters the results are unmistakable.

Once the person has reached this point, it has become a part of their life and cannot be removed from their personality without causing damage to their mental well-being. At this point, the only alternative is to begin to accept them for what they are and wait to see if they may come out of the enchantment on their own volition.
